Yoonjeong Lee (b. 1987) is a Seoul-based artist whose practice centers on what often goes unnoticed — the small units that make up a whole, the elements that stay in the background. Nails, the hidden structures of a sofa, functional parts that rarely take center stage. She brings these into focus by turning functional parts into independent objects, exposing hidden structures, and repeating small units to build large volumes. 
Through this, she questions the hierarchy between the "main" and the "sub," working toward a state where no single element needs to be the protagonist.


Lee studied Metal Art and Design in Seoul and works primarily with molten metal, drawn to transformations between solid and liquid. 
Her work includes Nail Experiment; Mycota, where minimal units are stacked to build large-scale forms; Chaining, which explores how a first link determines the whole; and Molten, developed through her own casting system outside of industrial methods.
